Oh, never mind! Gwyneth Paltrow — who very publicly dissed the May 6 Met Gala, telling USA Today, “I’m never going again” — has devoted her latest issue of goop to, yes, the Met Gala.

“The Met Ball, at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, is always the year’s most elaborate display of incredible fashion and this year was no different,” the actress writes. She then goes on to describe in detail just how her custom fuchsia Valentino Haute Couture dress, featuring a sheer panel just above the chest, was created. (For the record, it took two fittings plus last-minute, day-of alterations to get just the right look.)

Her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman also chimes in to explain her rationale behind the dress selection: “In thinking about what Gwyneth could wear, I didn’t want her to show up in a costume. So this look is all about anarchy — truly going against the grain and not wearing what everyone expects. That’s about as punk as you can get.”

In a post-Met Gala interview with Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O, Paltrow, 40, complained about the event’s dress code: “I think we’re all a bit old to dress up punk,” she said by way of explaining her more conservative attire. “I just went as kind of normal.” (Her former bestie, Madonna, 54, on the other hand, went all-out in a racy fishnet body stocking, a studded jacket, and hot pink pumps.)

In the latest goop issue, the Oscar-winning actress also shares her favorite looks from the night, and true to her word, none were costume-y. Paltrow picked Carey Mulligan, in a black Balenciaga cutout dress, model Cara Delevigne, in a black Burberry gown with plunging neckline, and Miranda Kerr, in a revealing Michael Kors cutout number, as best-dressed.

On Sunday, the busy mom showed off a gift she received from 4-year-old son Bronx for Mother’s Day on Twitter. The single star, who split from Boardwalk Empire actor Vincent Piazza in November 2012, posted a picture of a beautiful bouquet of flowers that included the note, “Happy Mother’s Day! Love always, Bronx.”

Perhaps her ex-husband, Pete Wentz, helped their son send the gift? The 33-year-old Fall Out Boy bassist recently praised Simpson for her mothering skills.

I like conspicuous jewelry!” Kaling tells Us Weekly of her M.O. on accessories. “For the most part, I like for my jewelry to make me feel dainty — not the other way around.”

As the actress explains, her collection of baubles is so impressive that it often attracts extra attention. “At the airport, it takes me 30 minutes to get through security with all of my jewelry,” jokes the star, 33. One of Kaling’s favorite pieces in her collection is a vintage rose gold 1968 Rolex oyster watch. “It’s so decadent and gorgeous,” Kaling — also a fan of jewelry designers Jennifer Meyer and Vita Fede — tells Us. “I love mens watches because they fit loosely like a bracelet.”

Kaling tells Us her style off-screen is based on ease of wear. “I have an overtly ‘new money’ aesthetic — I am the child of immigrants after all!” admits Massachusetts native Kaling. “But mixed with a healthy dose of Anne of Green Gables. That was my favorite show growing up. I love color, rhinestones, patterns, but I also love the overtly buttoned-up, long sleeved, layered feminine look of women from the turn of the century.”
