Wednesday, May 15th, 2013

Hayden Panettiere had three things to flaunt during the ABC Upfront event on Tuesday, May 14: her super-toned bod, gorgeous diamond ring and her sexy fiance, Wladimir Klitschko.

Wearing a cleavage-baring purple studded bandage-style dress, the Nashville actress, 23, completed her sexy and sultry look with smoky eye makeup and a side French braid.

Her Ukranian boxer beau, 37, seemed to approve — as the two shared some sweet PDA moments on the red carpet. Panettiere was all smiles flashing her diamond-encrusted ring, which she wore on her right hand.

Us Weekly exclusively reported back in April that Panettiere and Klitschko got engaged after reconciling in January. The two previously had dated for two years before taking a 19 month break in May 2011.

A source tells Us that the couple is hoping to tie the knot sooner rather than later. “Looks like a summer wedding,” the insider spilled in April.

Kanye West Bangs His Head Into Street Pole, Kim Kardashian Makes It All Better

Saturday, May 11th, 2013

Kim Kardashian‘s maternal instincts are already kicking in! The seven-months-pregnant reality star, 32, was house-hunting with beau Kanye West in Bel-Air, Calif. on Friday, May 10, when the rapper suddenly walked straight into a street pole.

PHOTOS: Kim Kardashian’s baby bump style

Dressing her growing baby bump in a black lace cardigan paired with a side braid and chandelier earrings, the expectant mother immediately showed her nurturing side — going to the rapper’s side and kissing his forehead while he seemed to wince from the klutzy mishap.

Get Grandpas FBI File.com Website Now Makes Getting FBI Files Easy

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

Winchester, VA (PRWEB) April 16, 2013

The process for obtaining FBI files about family members who may have been the subject of a federal investigation has just become much simpler with the help of a step-by-step consumer website: GetGrandpasFBIfile.com established by Virginia-based Meme Transmission Enterprises.

Did Grandpa Joe run a gambling ring Did Aunt Mary ever lead an antiwar protest? Did Cousin Gary smuggle booze during prohibition? Was Great-Uncle Fred a communist organizer? If so, the FBI may have their files. The Federal Bureau of Investigation maintains billions of pages of records and millions of files -– all compiled using taxpayer dollars.

But the clock is ticking. Recently, the FBI has begun destroying the bulk of its historic files to save space. Only a very tiny fraction of its voluminous files will be preserved at the National Archives So time is of the essence in asking for files before they are gone forever.

Get Grandpas FBI File makes it easy to get these files by guiding the public through the process of completing a request letter. The website does not ask for any payment, and most requests for FBI files are processed by the FBI without any fees whatsoever.

It is important to note that the FBI also provides Rap Sheets, which are listings of arrests and convictions, for a fee of $ 18, but those are different than the files produced by a search of the FBI Central Records System. Get Grandpas FBI File does not provide the ability to retrieve Rap Sheets.

Get Grandpas FBI File will help people researching their family history or genealogy, as well as journalists and researchers who want to view FBI Files. The Freedom of Information Act allows any person—except fugitives, federal agencies, and foreign intelligence agencies—to request information about organizations, businesses, investigations, historical events, incidents, groups, or deceased persons.

The FBI will provide files on living people, but only with their written permission.

A sister site, Get My FBI File, was created to allow people to get their own FBI File. A special bonus feature allows individuals to ask other agencies for their dossier, such as the Defense Security Service, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Army Criminal Investigation Command, the U.S. Secret Service and others.

About the sites:
The Get Grandpas FBI File and Get My FBI File websites were established by the noncommercial organization Meme Transmission Enterprises (MTE) for noncommercial informational and educational purposes only. Other MTE sites available include TVshowComplaints.org and AirForceHistoryIndex.org.

Fairsail’s new global HQ makes waves

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013

World beating UK Tech Company snubs London for Thames Valley

London, UK 22 March 2013 – Fairsail, the leader in Global Workforce Collaboration, today announced the opening of its new headquarters in the Reading Enterprise Centre, earning the praise of innovation- focused MP for Reading East, Rob Wilson. This follows an outstanding year of growth, which has seen the Human Resources software specialist grow its customer base by 200 per cent and increase revenue by over 300 per cent.

The company has announced plans to hire 30 new members of staff at its new global headquarters in the Reading University Enterprise Centre over the next three years. The new offices are perfectly situated to attract graduates from the University and Henley School of Management and benefit from the latest innovations coming from the Reading Enterprise hub. Fairsail had considered and rejected a London base as the company found Reading offered better value for money, a better working environment and room to expand.

Fairsail’s global customer base includes IRIS, SolarWinds and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Over 100 organisations worldwide use Fairsail’s cloud-based Global Workforce Collaboration platform to rapidly expand operations into new countries, hire and retain staff – slashing the time required to comply with regional working laws, holiday legislation and currency headaches.

Rob Wilson MP comments, “Fairsail is exactly the type of business Reading needs. A successful start-up, experiencing rapid global expansion, it helps to further Britain’s reputation as a technology innovator. I wish Fairsail every success for the future and hope it shows other companies who feel priced out of London that Reading is a viable option which can often offer better value.”

Nic Scott, CEO, Fairsail adds, “It has been an extremely busy and successful year for Fairsail, in which we have rapidly increased our customer base whilst continuing to develop cutting edge Workforce Collaboration technology. We are delighted to have found a location for our headquarters which offers us access to the next generation of talent and innovations from the university whilst also having good transport links for access to the rest of the UK. We look forward to becoming an active member of the Reading University and wider community.”

It’s International Women’s Day, but gender makes little difference to debt

Sunday, March 10th, 2013

• The women we helped between March 2012 and February 2013 had average unsecured debts of nearly £10,000 – only marginally less than men.
• Their average disposable income was £250 per month – again, slightly less than men.
• Debt Advisory Centre helps men and women alike deal with an average of 6 unsecured debts.

As part of International Women’s Day, Debt Advisory Centre is raising awareness that there’s not much of a gender difference when it comes to debt problems. It helped an equal number of men and women over the last 12 months, with similar debt issues. Women had slightly lower debts, but slightly lower incomes too. Overall, the men and women who received debt help had very similar problems.

Women come to us for help with debt problems that have got out of hand. Over 12 months, the women who started a debt solution with Debt Advisory Centre had average unsecured debts of nearly £10,000 and average disposable incomes of £250.

Disposable income is important because this is the money that’s available to repay creditors. Many women find their disposable income falls:

• During and after maternity leave
• If reducing hours at work – to raise a child, for example
• When paying for childcare
• Following a relationship breakdown

Both men and women can find their finances tipped over the edge by other changes in circumstances, such as redundancy and illness, as well as having simply overspent.

Ian Williams of Debt Advisory Centre commented: “Sometimes events are unplanned and sometimes individuals simply aren’t financially prepared for a change in circumstances. Starting a family, for example, should be a time for celebration, and it’s a shame to let debt problems overshadow what should be a really happy time.”

The women that Debt Advisory Centre helped over 12 months had an average of 6 unsecured debts, just like men (unsecured debts include credit cards, personal loans, payday loans and overdrafts).

Dealing with more than one lender can be very difficult to manage. Debt Advisory Centre can deal with lenders on behalf of the people they help, making it easier to manage their finances and work on clearing their debts.

That might involve setting up an informal repayment plan with lower and affordable repayments or – if necessary – a more formal insolvency arrangement. It really depends on the circumstances and finances of the individual and what they feel most comfortable with.

Mr Williams continued: “We help both men and women to deal with debt problems that have become unmanageable. We strongly urge women with debt problems to take a good look at their finances and seek out help if they need it.”

Parents campaign on climate change – Becoming a parent makes two thirds of people feel more concerned about green issues

Sunday, March 3rd, 2013

Press release embargoed for 0001AM on Monday 4th March 2013

Parenting organisations and celebrities are backing a new campaign, Climate Week – Protect the Future, for parents to protect their children’s future by helping to prevent climate change.

The campaign launches today as part of Climate Week (4-10 March), Britain’s biggest environmental occasion, with over half a million people expected to attend 3,000 events across the UK. Supporters include the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan and the Prime Minister, David Cameron.

New research1 for Climate Week by Ipsos MORI shows that parenthood is a powerful trigger for concern about green issues. Two-thirds (66%) of mothers and fathers said that becoming a parent made them feel more strongly about protecting the environment. The campaign is backed by the UK’s largest charity for parents, NCT, and by Family Lives, which helps over a million children each year.

Belinda Phipps, Chief Executive of NCT said: “Having a baby makes you re-evaluate your priorities and realise that for the sake of their future we need to look after the planet we rely on now. Climate Week is a great opportunity to make some small changes which could make a huge difference.”

Model, fitness guru and mother Nell McAndrew, eight months pregnant, had the words “protect the future” written on her bump. She said “Becoming a parent makes you realise how important it is to protect the planet for future generations, and that’s why I’m supporting Climate Week.”

Pregnant campaign supporter Vanessa Doman also had her bump painted as a globe damaged by oil, showing that to safeguard the next generation from climate change we must use less fossil fuel.

People can also help to publicise the campaign by taking a photo of themselves displaying the words “Climate Week – Protect the Future” and making it their Facebook or Twitter photo during Climate Week.

Kevin Steele, Chief Executive of Climate Week said: “The campaigning of parents during Climate Week is helping it to be Britain’s biggest climate change campaign – an occasion when everyone can start to live and work in more sustainable ways.”

There are lots of other Climate Week activities – for example for schools, workplaces and community groups. People can register to take part in Britain’s biggest environmental competition, the team-based Climate Week Challenge. They can also run a Climate Week Swap event for people to exchange clothes and children’s toys they no longer want for great stuff that they do. For more information, visit www.climateweek.com, email [email protected] or call 020 3397 2601.

Infographic: Peel TV App Makes Nearly Spot On Election Prediction

Move over, Nate Silver. It seems like everybody is taking credit for correctly calling the presidential election the day after—well, with the exception of some of Fox News’s disastrously wrong hired guns, that is.

Count Peel among the eerily prescient presidential prognosticators. It turns out that the software developer’s interactive debate app, which let viewers “cheer” and “boo” for the candidates in real-time during three presidential and one vice-presidential debate, accurately picked 48 out of the 50 statewide election results on Tuesday.

That’s a pretty good result, if not as precise as the 50-for-50 calls made by New York Times poll aggregator Silver and several other stat-crunching folks. But Peel TV’s call is made all the more impressive considering that the predictions were made solely based on user reactions during the debates, the last of which happened all the way back on Oct. 22, whereas Silver et. al. were adjusting their predictive models all the way until election day.

Indeed, the infographic below shows just how spot-on the state-by-state breakdown of Obama and Romney supporters among users of the Peel TV was in terms of the final electoral college tally. Though as of midday Wednesday, Florida was still undecided, it appeared to be leaning towards Obama, as Peel TV’s user support figures predicted. All other states fell in line with the Peel TV model, with the exceptions of Maryland and New Hampshire, which Peel TV called for Romney but which went to the president instead.

The Peel TV app is available for Android devices in the Google Play store and for iOS devices in Apple’s App Store.
