Janel Parrish may stick to neutral basics when it comes to her day-to-day wardrobe, but step into her shoe closet and it’s easy to see that the Pretty Little Liars star’s footwear philosophy is that more is more. “I love shoes! I have a serious shoe problem,” the actress admits to Us Weekly of her mounting shoe collection, which currently numbers between 35-40 pairs from designers including L.A.M.B. and Brian Atwood. “I wear only, like, six of them . . . but I like having the option of knowing I can wear it them if I want.”

Working with stylist Reichelle Palo to create her “funky chic” daytime and red carpet looks, Parrish — who plays Mona on the ABC Family series — explains that she sticks to a neutral color palette to let her shoes spice up an outfit. “I have a lot of black boots, and I love stilettos because I’m 5’2 so I practically live in heels,” the petite Hawaiian-born star, 24, explains. “I love to wear little black dresses with hot pink shoes or emerald green shoes just to mix it up a bit.”

One of the most coveted, well-worn pairs of shoes in her closet are Parrish’s suede Steve Madden calf-length wedge boots. “I can wear them with anything and they look good,” says Parrish, who looks to Lea Michele and Blake Lively for style inspiration.

As extensive as her current collection is, the PLL actress continues to lust after one luxe label. “I still don’t have a pair of Christian Louboutin’s, so that’s my next [purchase]!” she tells Us.

Europcar reveals the Prestige car favourites of drivers – by their star signs

Capricorns favour the sporty Audi TT and Porsche Boxster while Geminis opt for the sleek elegance of the Mercedes C, E and S Classes

London, May 2013 – Europcar, the leader in car hire services in Europe, has consulted the stars in its latest research, which looks at the top Prestige rentals according to the star signs of renters. When it comes to luxury on four-wheels, Capricorns and Geminis dominate, scoring the most rentals on almost every vehicle in the Europcar Prestige fleet.

In its analysis of nearly 8,000 Prestige rentals, Europcar found that the normally cautious, conventional and serious Capricorn was the biggest renter of Prestige models as a whole, accounting for 20% of all reservations. Capricorns also seem to be big fans of the sports cars in the Europcar Prestige fleet. Capricorns account for 82% of rentals of the Audi TT Coupe. It’s a similar story for the Porsche Boxster with Capricorns making 30% of bookings; the next closest renter of the performance coupe is Cancer at just 9% of all rentals of this model.
Gemini, the curious, changeable and expressive star sign, also dominates the Europcar Prestige rental chart, scoring 12% of all rentals. Whilst Capricorn favours the sporty models, restless Gemini prefers the sleek and elegant Mercedes C Class which represented 26% of all models hired by this star sign. The Mercedes E Class and S Class also scored highly with customers born under the Gemini star sign.

The fun and quirky BMW MINI Cooper S is the favourite with artistic Librans and passionate Scorpios, whilst daring Sagittarians favour the space and practicality of the Mercedes M Class.

It seems that no star sign can resist the pure decadence and performance of the Mercedes S Class, with drivers born under the Virgo, Taurus, Aries, Aquarius, Cancer and Leo star signs all making it their top rental choice.

Jason Collins has made NBA — and LGBT — history. The basketball star comes out as gay on the cover of the new issue of Sports Illustrated. “I’m a 34-year-old NBA center,” writes the 12-year veteran of the sport, who is currently a free agent. “I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation.”

Collins explains his decision to come out now. “I started thinking about this in 2011 during the NBA player lockout. I’m a creature of routine. When the regular season ends I immediately dedicate myself to getting game ready for the opener of the next campaign in the fall,” says Collins, who has played as a center for the New Jersey Nets, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards.

“But the lockout wreaked havoc on my habits and forced me to confront who I really am and what I really want. With the season delayed, I trained and worked out. But I lacked the distraction that basketball had always provided.”

The athlete adds that years of secrecy took their toll. “It takes an enormous amount of energy to guard such a big secret. I’ve endured years of misery and gone to enormous lengths to live a lie. I was certain that my world would fall apart if anyone knew,” he writes. “And yet when I acknowledged my sexuality I felt whole for the first time. I still had the same sense of humor, I still had the same mannerisms and my friends still had my back.”

None other than former President Bill Clinton immediately applauded Collins; Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, was pals with Collins when they were both students at Stanford University.

“I have known Jason Collins since he was Chelsea’s classmate and friend at Stanford. Jason’s announcement today is an important moment for professional sports and in the history of the LGBT community,” Clinton says in a statement. “It is also the straightforward statement of a good man who wants no more than what so many of us seek: to be able to be who we are; to do our work; to build families and to contribute to our communities. For so many members of the LGBT community, these simple goals remain elusive. I hope that everyone, particularly Jason’s colleagues in the NBA, the media and his many fans extend to him their support and the respect he has earned.”

Toth, 41, was reportedly given a sobriety test, during which time his wife became increasingly agitated. Per the arresting officer’s account in the report, the actress disobeyed repeated instructions to stay in the vehicle and proceeded to argue on her husband’s behalf.

“Mrs. Witherspoon asked, ‘Do you know my name?’” Variety quotes the report as saying. “I answered, ‘No, I don’t need to know your name. I then added, ‘Right now.’ Mrs. Witherspoon stated, ‘You’re about to find out who I am.’”

The couple were booked at a nearby station on charges of driving under the influence (him) and disorderly conduct (her), and then released at around 3:30 a.m. ET. They’re scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning at 8 a.m., but sources tell Us that they’ll likely request a postponement, as Witherspoon is currently in New York City for the premiere of her film Mud.
